Pres Week in Bray

Presentation College Bray has marked the Feast of the Presentation with a week full of activities.

An organising committee (left) of students and staff worked hard to arrange a series of events to focus minds on the characteristic spirit of Pres.

On Monday the entire school body assembled for Mass celebrated by Fr John Egan, a Pallottine priest, at Our Lady Queen of Peace church in Bray. The Mass was also attended by the Province Leader of the Presentation Brothers, Br Andrew Hickey, and a former principal of Presentation College Bray, Br Eunan Page. Afterwards a series of posters were unveiled with details of the school's code of behaviour, anti-bullying policy. There has also been a focus on mental health issues during the week.

A Colours Day was also held which raised funds for the Presentation Brothers mission in Ghana.

The week also included a special Tag Rugby match between staff and 6th year students, which the staff won; a soccer celebrity bainisteoir for 4th year students; the presentation of medals to the high achievers of 2011 and a "Just a Minunte Quiz' for staff and students on the Code of Behaviour.

According to school chaplain, Br Ray Dwyer, "this week has been an opportunity to thank God for the blessings which have been given to each of us here in Pres Bray and to ask God's protection and care for the months ahead. I'm delighted with the level of participation in the different activities by both students and staff."
