Anthony Dominic Nixon of Presentation Brothers, Reading, England died at
03.45am on Friday, 20th April 2012, at Royal Berkshire Hospital,
Reading.
Br Dominic was born to John and Ruth (Smith) Nixon in Mosborough, Sheffield, Yorkshire, England on 26st August 1928. He entered the Presentation Brothers at Longueuil, Quebec, Canada in 1970. He made his First Profession of Vows in 1971 and his Final Profession in 1976.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Sheila; his niece, Angela, and his nephews, Peter and David; and his Presentation Brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Alan.
Br Dominic was educated at St Thérèse School, Sheffield and in the Royal Air Force. He had qualifications in Music, Health Care and Catechetics. Dominic served the Congregation in Marshall (USA), Navrongo (Ghana), Stratford (Canada), Toronto (Canada), Prince George (Canada), Longueuil (Canada) and Twickenham (England). He moved to Reading in 1997, having retired from teaching in 1992.
The funeral of Brother Dominic Nixon will be held on Thursday 3rd May with Mass in the Church of the English Martyrs in Reading at 1pm. Burial will follow in the Presentation Brothers plot in Henley Road Cemetery in Reading.
