Fundraising Gala in Canada

A special fundraising party will take place at Brebeuf College on Friday, February 4th from 8pm to 1am. The cost is $20 and includes finger food, desserts and live entertainment. There will be a cash bar and a silent auction. All proceeds will help defray the cost of the upcoming student trip to Ghana and help support the Presentation Brothers' feeding programme at two of their schools in the region. It promises to be a fun night for all!

All are welcome, so feel free to bring spouses, significant others, and friends. Anyone interested in purchasing tickets can contact organiser Michael Fehely Da Costa at michael.dacosta@rogers.com

Brebeuf College is located at 211 Steeles Avenue East, between Yonge and Bayview. For those who don't wish to drive, the closest subway is Finch and the 53 Steeles East bus takes you to the school in 10 minutes.

A fundraising raffle has also been organisesd. Tickets are $10 and prizes include a Toronto Maples Leafs sweater signed by Phaneuf. Tickets can be purchased from Michael Da Costa or by sending a cheque payable to Adventure Learning Experiences to Brebeuf College School, 211 Steeles Ave. East, Toronto, ON  M2M 3Y6. There is an earlybird draw in late February and the main draw in May.

"If anyone wishes to make a donation to the Brothers' feeding programme, they can send a cheque payable to the Presentation Brothers to the address above," says Michael. "You will receive a charitable tax receipt. The Brothers currently provide lunch to students in their junior high three days a week, but we hope to raise enough so that it is daily, and also expand it to their adjacent primary school. This will cost approximately $10,000. A proper diet has an enormous impact on success in school, as you can imagine.

We are still accepting ads for the souvenir booklet. Details are at http://www.brebeufalumni.org/ghana.php. This is something that might interest those who own companies or whose job allows advertising."
