Despite the fact that it was a ‘blood’ Christmas for people of northern Nigeria with explosions at a number of churches, some 47 children put aside their fears and gathered to express their joy for the season. The event was organised by the Presentation Brothers in Tafawa Balewa, Bauchi State in northern Nigeria. Br Godfred who is the community leader gave the children a Christmas message in which he urged them to be obedient to their parents and to study hard at school.
The children who turned out in their best clothing were treated to some African music to dance. There was plenty of jollof rice, meat, biscuits, toffees and fruit drinks to go round.
“The children had plenty of fun today,” said Br Godfed. “We thank all those who contributed in different ways in making this year’s children Christmas party a great success.”
