Edmund Rice Action Camps (ERAC)

Enjoying ERAC 2009Edmund Rice Action Camp is a voluntary youth organisation held under the auspices of the Presentation Brothers.

It has a two-fold aim:

  1. To provide summer camps and recreational activities for children who would not otherwise get this opportunity.
  2. To provide leadership training for young adults who are senior students in Post-Primary schools and students in third-level colleges.

 

The Leadership Training Programme helps the young adults to recognise their leadership qualities and it empowers them to take responsibility for running the Camp. Experienced Leaders help with the training of new Leaders.This is an essential part of the programme as they are great role models for the incoming leaders. Reflection and team building are key elements in this process.
During the Camp the children get an opportunity to do art/craft, drama, storytime/reflection and they participate in fun games. A day of celebration is held on the last day of the Camp.Each child receives a Certificate and the Leaders name his/her special contribution to the Camp.
