The work of the Presentation Brothers' Total Abstinence Club in Ghana is going from strength to strength!
The club, founded some years ago by Br James Debuo-Der, now has over one hundred young members.
Br James is a member of our community in Bolgatanga in northern Ghana.
"One of the serious problems facing our young people is alcoholism," Br James explains. "In one parish alone, last year, as many as twelve young people died from alcohol. A local beer, pito, is brewed in the family home and children often have easy access to it. Worse still is apatashie which is very destructive for the liver.
"Members of the club promise to abstain from alcohol for life, wear the Club's badge in public, and recite the heroic offering twice daily."
We wish Br James continued success with his club!
