Around 100 young people between the ages of 18 and 39, along with 24 religious and 3 bishops attended this year's Mix and Mingle event hosted by the Brothers at our Parkdale community.

The evening began with Mass at 4:15 p.m. on the back lawn of the Brothers' house. Despite a threat of rain, the afternoon and evening remained dry. Afterwards, participants spent some time in discussion groups before enjoying a barbecue.

"This special time together provided the young adults with the opportunity to hang out with other young people," according to Brother Francis of our Parkdale community. "We had students, working professionals, young parents, singles and married couples here this evening. They also had the opportunity to meet with men and women religious to explore how their spirituality could nourish their faith journey."

This was the 7th Mix and Mingle event, sponsored by Faith Connections and the religious communities in Toronto. Our community at Parkdale includes Brother Francis, Brother Denis and Father Damian, who celebrated the Eucharist.

Participants were also offered further ways of continuing their conversations and engagement with invitations to future Taize prayer sessions, suppers, adoration and prayer evenings organised by several religious communities including the Loretto Sisters, Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood, Sisters of Life, the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre Dame, Presentation Brothers, Friars of the Atonement, Paulist Fathers, the Faithful Companions of Jesus, Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto and the Xaviere Sisters.
