'The Mon' wins Colm Cooper tournament in Killarney

Presentation Monastery National School ("The Mon") has won the Colm Cooper-Presentation Monastery Tournament today in Killarney.

They defeated Bunscoil Chríost Rí from Turner's Cross in Cork on a scoreline of 3-4 to 2-1.

The competition took place at the Dr Crokes pitch in Killarney and the bad weather was no deterrent for the boys from 5th and 6th classes who took to the field.

Colm Cooper, winner of four All Ireland medals with the Kerry Senior Football team, presented the trophy to the winning captain.

This year's competition included teams from Bunscoil Chríost Rí, Turner's Cross, Cork city; Greenmount N.S. in Cork city; Nagle-Rice N.S. in Miltown, Co. Kerry; Scoil Iosaef Naofa, Cobh; St Joseph's N.S., Mardyke in Cork city.
