Br Theiva Renews His Vows

Date: 06 Jun 2017

Venue: Killarney

Br. Theiva Sebastiyam Pillai renewed his Temporary Vows as a Presentation Brother in the chapel of the Novitiate in Killarney on Friday 2nd June 2017. Br. Theiva is our first Sri Lankan Brother and has just completed his first-year studies at St Patrick's College Maynooth.
He is pursuing a degree in Theology and Arts while living and engaging with the Seminary community at Maynooth. While this poses a challenge for both himself and the seminary community, it offers great experience and formation for this time and one being called to religious life today.
When he renewed his vows, Br. Theiva was joined by his community in Killarney in a beautiful Mass and Liturgy presided by Fr. Hilary OFM and his vows were received by Br. Barry, Director of Formation. The document "Identity and Mission of the Religious Bother in the Church," speaks of how "New wine needs new wineskins. It is the responsibility of the whole Church to ensure the new wine not only is not lost but can mature in quality". As a Presentation community and family, and as a Church, we offer this support and encouragement to Br. Theiva as he continues his journey with us.
We congratulate Br. Theiva and continue our prayerful support to him.
