Advocacy Workshop takes place in Sunyani, Ghana

Brother Brian Bond, Executive Director of Edmund Rice International in Geneva has led a training workshop on the theme of advocacy in Sunyani, Ghana.
The training workshop took place at St. Joseph's Pastoral and Social Centre in the Brong Ahafo region, running from Tuesday 2nd September to Friday 6th September.
Topics included human rights and justice, the Universal Periodic Review procedures, treaty bodies, advocacy for the rights of the child and eco-justice.
Some 35 Presentation Brothers and Christian Brothers, as well as teachers from the Presentation Brothers' schools and representatives from Communio Edmund Rice and the Salesians of Don Bosco attended the workshop. The participants were drawn from several countries: Papua New Guinea, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Ghana.
Participants from Ghana travelled from Logre, Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, Hain in the Upper West Region, and Yendi & Tamale in the Northern Region.
The workshop was organised by Br. Imoru Lombogedong Emmanuel of the Presentation Brothers who is the contact person for ERI in West Africa.
"This was a very positive event," according to Br Emmanuel. "Our training session ended with each group of participants creating an action plan to be implemented over the next year. Brother Brian Bond will help us to implement these plans."
