Presentation Brothers College Grenada celebrates awards success

There have been celebrations at Presentation Brothers College (PBC) in Grenada after two of its past students achieved top awards for academic achievement. Oliver Maynard was awarded the T A Marryshow Cup Memorial Award for attaining the highest scores in the 2010 CXC Examinations. Ryan S K Gittens was awarded the A A La Grenada Award for receiving the highest scores in technical and vocational subjects.

Fundraising Gala in Canada

A special fundraising party will take place at Brebeuf College on Friday, February 4th from 8pm to 1am. The cost is $20 and includes finger food, desserts and live entertainment. There will be a cash bar and a silent auction. All proceeds will help defray the cost of the upcoming student trip to Ghana and help support the Presentation Brothers' feeding programme at two of their schools in the region. It promises to be a fun night for all!

Edmund Rice Awards 2010

The celebrations of the Edmund Rice Awards this year in the Primary Schools of Killarney, Milltown, Birr and Cobh were bursting with joy, enthusiasm, creativity and learning. The 130 pupils who received their Awards were witnesses to the Gospel. Simply and eloquently, they shared how the activities and reflections of the past year had affected their lives.

Students Reach Out in Cork

As the school year comes to a close students in Cork have been reflecting on their work which has focused on others. In Coláiste Chríost Rí students prepared a mural on human rights with Martin Luther King as a central figure. In nearby Coláiste an Spioraid Naoimh students raised funds for the local Marymount Hospice and for the Presentation Brothers missionary work in Africa.

RNN visits Presentation Brothers projects in Cork

Members of the Presentation Family have been busy over the past two days being interviewed by Josepha Smith, a journalist from RNN (Religious Network News) in Dublin. Religious Network News , formerly known as 3R, gathers interviews related to faith and justice issues and distributes them among some 30 local and community radio stations around Ireland. The combined listenership is in excess of 250,000.

PresLink Visits Mount St Joseph

Students from PresLink, a student group from Presentation Brothers College, Cork, visited Mount St Joseph this week. PresLink is a student group at the College which seeks ways to strengthen the link between the school and the Brothers.This year the students have raised significant funds for the Brothers' missions in the developing world.

Awareness of Unfairness: Helping the Homeless

Catholic students from across Toronto sat in silence as John Bransfield and Joey Ivory, a young engaged couple, described their tragic struggle with homelessness. The couple were asked to speak at the annual Social Justice Symposium, hosted by Brebeuf College School recently, which took place at the University of Toronto, St. Michael's College campus.
